ICES Charter Member 33 years
Carolyn Lawrence loved cake decorating and she loved ICES. She was a Charter Member of ICES and attended most of the ICES Conventions and many mid-year meetings. She only stopped attending because her health would not allow it. Carolyn served 2 terms on the ICES Board of Directors and was awarded the Wilbur Brand Service Award. She established Missouri ICES in 1983 by beginning Days of Sharing in that state. She was the Missouri State Representative twice and also served the group as Secretary multiple times. She was Co-Show Director for the 1995 and 1999 ICES Show and Conventions held in Kansas City, Missouri. Carolyn served on many ICES Show Committees as Co-Chair of the Banquet Ticket Exchange which was first implemented at the Kansas City Show in 1995. She looked forward every year, to seeing all her ICES friends as they came to exchange their banquet vouchers. Carolyn lived by the ICES motto of “Sharing and Caring”. She willingly shared her knowledge of cake decorating with everyone through ICES, the Fancy Frosters Cake Club in Kansas City, MO (which she started) and online. She loved to visit and share knowledge with others by participating in many Cake Chats and through Facebook. She is greatly missed.
