ICES Board Committees
Programs: The Programs Committee is responsible for all aspects of the following programs: Sugar Art Certification, ICES Certified Judges (ICJ, Hall of Fame & Wilbur Brand Memorial Service awards, Scholarships, Approved Teachers, Board of Directors Awards.
Business: The Business Committee is responsible for: ICES Bylaw changes, Chapter Bylaws changes, maintaining and approving ICES and Chapter Logos & trademarks, Board of Directors Nominations and Elections. Maintain updated Job Descriptions for all Board positions, committees, and contractors as necessary to ensure effective operations for the organization.
Convention: The Convention Committee oversees all aspects of our Cake Expos. They review and update the Convention Manual. Participate on-site inspections. Act as an advisor to the Show and as a Liaison between the Show and the Board. Monitor the Convention Budget and provide our Exhibitors with a dedicated board member to bring their issues and concerns. Communicate any information that is not specific to a show.
Ethics: The Ethics Committee is composed of the Executive Committee, a past President and a first year board member. They are responsible to investigate and resolve formal ethics complaints within the association. The committee is to provide a neutral process to facilitate a just resolution to such complaints.
Technology: The Technology Committee is responsible for Managing and maintaining all aspects of ICES web sites and services, designing digital and printed ICES Publicity and monitoring ICES Social Media sites.
Representation: This committee acts as the liaison between all Representatives/Ambassadors and the Board. Maintains a current list of all Representatives/Ambassadors. Reviews and updates the Representative Handbook. Sets the agenda for the Annual Representative meeting. Assists Representatives/Ambassadors in resolving local problems. Arranges for the nomination and election of the Rep Moderator and Rep Secretary. Arranges for Rep Orientation sessions. Appoints or arranges elections to fill Rep vacancies. Works with Shows on the distribution of Reps year bars and certificates. Maintains a file of Rep/Ambassador contracts, forms, and reports.
Newsletter: The Newsletter Committee produces, edits, and proofreads the ICES Newsletter which is produced 11 times a year. Works with all board members, convention teams, and members to gather information for the newsletter. They also solicit advertising to help defray the expenses of the newsletter.
Membership: The Membership Committee acts as a liaison between Membership Coordinator and the Board. It works to find new ways and implement activities to increase funding for ICES and provide the ICES membership with keepsakes and benefits. They maintain ICES Historical Records on the ICES Cloud Account and provide digital presentations to be shown at Cake Expos.
