Dear ICES Members,
Convention will be here before you know it. Are you getting excited? I do hope you’re planning on bringing at least one display for the cake room. If you haven’t started on it, get busy! The Orlando show committee is working hard to bring us a fantastic event; let’s show our support by bringing a display or two to place in the cake room. Remember, if you pre-register a display and bring it to the cake room, you’ll be eligible for the $500 cash drawing.
If you’re not able to make it to Convention this year, don’t forget to request an absentee ballot or assign someone your proxy using the form in last month’s newsletter. There are a number of folks running for the board as well as several offices with more than one candidate. Make sure your voice is heard and vote for those you’d like to see representing you on the board and in office. If you have any questions, talk to your Representative or the Nominations and Elections chairman, Gayle McMillan. Her contact information can be found on page 4.
If you’ve considered running for the board, it’s not too late. The slate of candidates has been published, but you can still be nominated from the floor of the General Membership Meeting. Make sure get your paperwork completed, and mail it to Gayle. Then just find someone to nominate you from the floor. Gayle or your representative can get you the forms you need.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you in Orlando next month. While you’re there catching up with friends, shopping with the vendors, learning at the demos and classes, and viewing all the fantastic cakes on display, keep an eye out for all the ways ICES is growing and getting stronger. You ain’t seen nothing yet!
